⚡ Setup Guide — Required After Invitation
⚠️ Inviting the bot does not automatically enable it. You must complete the setup in the dashboard before the bot will start working.
  1. Invite Forum Assistant to your server.
  2. In Discord, open your Forum Channel settings → Tags and create three tags: Waiting for Reply, Discussing, Solved (names must match exactly what you configure in the dashboard).
  3. Visit 008870.xyz and log in with Discord.
  4. Select your server from the dashboard.
  5. Under Forum Channels, select the forum channel to monitor and set the tag names to match what you created in step 2.
  6. Set Admin Notification Channel to receive system alerts.
  7. Under Auto Close, configure inactivity days and optionally enable Lock Thread After Close.
  8. Click Save Configuration — the bot is now active!
💡 The bot requires these permissions in your forum channel: View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History, Manage Messages, Manage Threads, Manage Channels.
🔔 BASIC — Reminders Setup
Available on BASIC plan. Sends automatic reminder messages to support roles and thread authors when a thread is inactive.
  1. In the dashboard, scroll to the Reminders card.
  2. Under Reminder to Support Roles: select the roles to ping, set Send Time (UTC) and Interval (days) (1–6), and optionally customize the message.
  3. Under Reminder to Thread Author: configure separately with its own time, interval, and custom message.
  4. Under Reminders, set Solved Button Text and Solved Confirmation Message to customize what users see when marking a post as solved.
  5. Click Save Reminder to apply — reminders will automatically send at the configured times.
🎯 How It Works

Forum Assistant monitors your Discord forum channels and automatically manages thread lifecycle by applying tags based on activity. It also sends reminders to support roles and thread authors to ensure no post goes unanswered.

New Thread Created Thread receives the Waiting for Reply tag automatically.

Someone Replies Tag updates to Discussing — the conversation is active.

Thread Resolved Author clicks "Mark as Solved" or the bot auto-closes after inactivity. Tag updates to Solved.
🏷️ Thread Tags

Forum Assistant uses three tags to track thread status. You must create these tags in your Discord forum channel with the exact same names configured in the dashboard.

Waiting for Reply

Applied when a thread has no replies yet.

Discussing

Applied when a thread has replies but isn't resolved.

Solved

Applied when the thread is marked as solved or auto-closed.

⚠️ Important: The tag names in your Discord forum channel must exactly match what you configure in the dashboard. Default names are Waiting for Reply, Discussing, and Solved.
⏱️ Auto Close

Threads that have been inactive for a set period are automatically closed and tagged as Solved.

  • Inactivity Period — FREE: fixed 1 day. BASIC: 1–6 days (configurable).
  • Lock on Close BASIC — Optionally lock the thread after closing so no further replies can be posted.
  • Custom Close Message BASIC — Customize the message sent when a thread is auto-closed. Use {hours} to insert the inactivity duration.
🔔 Reminders BASIC

Forum Assistant sends two types of reminders to prevent threads from being forgotten. Configure in Dashboard → Reminders.

👥 Role Reminder — Waiting Threads

Sent to configured support roles when a thread has received no replies. Notifies your team to help the original poster.

  • Configure up to 3 reminder roles.
  • Set send time (UTC) and interval (every N days).
  • Use {roleId} in the message to mention roles.
✍️ Poster Reminder — Discussing Threads

Sent to the original poster when replies exist but the thread hasn't been resolved. Includes a "Mark as Solved" button.

  • Use {userId} in the message to mention the poster.
  • Customize the "Mark as Solved" button text.
  • Customize the confirmation message shown after solving. Use {user} to mention who clicked the button.
